DreamingTwo years ago Chhoengka and I started asking God what He is doing in Cambodia, and what He is inviting us to do with Him. What has been highlighted to us is the lack of depth or trust that most people experience in their relationships. Even with family. Few are able to share struggles, pain, or fears. Few are able to help them find healing. Few are speaking identity over them that is true or filled with hope.
The invitation we have felt from God is to grow a new culture; a culture of mentorship. Over the last two years we have dreamed, researched, and prepared. The challenges are many, but we feel the time has come to launch what will become THRIVE. 
THRIVE will connect people with mentors who can help them along their journey.
WHAT IS THRIVE?THRIVE is a Christ centered, mentor based community, that invites Cambodians into a personal journey with the Father where they can belong, heal, and live out of their God given identity.
Students will be able to internalize the core themes in their Journey groups, and learn to work through difficulty together.
Journey/Life GroupsNew members will go through a nine month intensive called Journey, which is designed to experientially equip students to thrive on their journey with God in Community. Students will attend triannual retreats, monthly gatherings, and weekly mentor groups called Journey Groups. After completing Journey, members can be connected each year with a mentor in a Life Group.
When ready, members can become mentors of a group so they can pour into others.
Annual CycleEvery year will kick off in September with a launch event where students are connected with their Journey Group/mentor. Everyone else will be connected with a Life Group/mentor. Each year will end in May with a celebration ceremony where Journey students graduate, and people can share stories about what God has done throughout the year. The summer will be a time for everyone to refresh, listen to God, and prepare for the next year.
HPC staff will be the core of this new community.
Year OneThis year we will start our first journey groups with a small number of students. For now we will only be inviting HPC Khmer staff to apply for the limited number of spots. Next year we will increase the number of groups as we have mentors available and open application to others outside HPC.
Members will have new opportunities every year to grow in community.
TransformationJim Wilder wrote a book about the way the brain works and said; "Belonging+Identity=Transformation". God is inviting all to belong to Him, and to live out of an Identity only He can give as our maker and Father. As we build THRIVE, it will be for the purpose of offering this invitation to the people of Cambodia. To offer a community where people can belong, work through healing, and live out of their God given Identity. We will partner with God to build a new culture of mentorship that changes lives.
Eventually we want a building with a café, class rooms, large gathering space, offices, and a studio.
Long Term DreamsAs the community grows, so will the need for dedicated space. Eventually we would like to purchase a building specifically designed to empower the THRIVE community with space for groups to meet, community gatherings, conferences, administration, and the development of resources that empower what God is doing in the lives of Cambodians.
